Practice is meant to be shared. Throughout March, Practice is meant to be shared.

Throughout March, our members are invited to bring someone they care about into the Shanti community. Your guest can enjoy a week of practice with us—on the house. A little time to move, breathe, regulate, and experience the rhythm of the studio.

Redeeming the week is simple:
Your guest can create an account online or stop by the studio and mention your name at the front desk. From there, we’ll set them up with their week of practice.

Sometimes the most meaningful way to introduce someone to yoga is simply to practice beside them.

If there’s someone in your life who could use a little more steadiness, space, or support right now, this is a beautiful moment to invite them in.
The new moon is the quietest point of the lunar cy The new moon is the quietest point of the lunar cycle — a dark sky, a sacred pause, a moment when something new begins beneath the surface.

March’s new moon arrives in Pisces, a sign connected to intuition, dreams, and the subtle currents of the inner world. Pisces invites us to soften our grip on constant doing and return to listening — to the body, the breath, and the deeper wisdom that emerges in stillness.

Energetically, this moon carries themes of release, restoration, and renewal. It’s a powerful time to dissolve what no longer needs to be carried and create space for new intentions to quietly take root.

In this special evening practice, Emma will guide a New Moon Yoga Nidra — a form of yogic sleep that allows the nervous system to deeply settle while the mind rests in gentle awareness. In this space between waking and dreaming, the practice of sankalpa (heartfelt intention) can arise with clarity and authenticity.

Together we’ll practice conscious rest, allowing the quiet energy of the new moon to support reflection, integration, and the beginning of a new lunar rhythm.

Not all yoga teacher trainings are the same. ✨ Not all yoga teacher trainings are the same. ✨

At Shanti, we’ve designed our 200-hour training to go deeper than simply learning how to teach poses. This program explores yoga as both a practice and a framework for understanding the body, the nervous system, and the human experience.

Students study anatomy and movement science, nervous system regulation, yoga philosophy, meditation, and the art of skillful teaching. Along the way, we explore how practice shapes not only how we move—but how we listen, observe, and hold space for others.

Some students come because they want to teach.
Others come because they want to understand yoga - and themselves - more deeply.

Both paths are welcome here. ❤️

If you’ve been feeling called to deepen your practice, this training might be the next step.

Where do you feel life’s big moments in your body? Where do you feel life’s big moments in your body?

Sometimes the body knows before the mind does.

This Saturday, Emily Hogan (she/her) invites us into an exploration of the Wisdom Body — Vijnanamaya Kosha, the layer connected to discernment, intuition, and inner knowing.

Through an Ayurvedic lens, this workshop explores buddhi (intellect) and viveka (discernment), and how cultivating sattva can support clearer insight.

The practice asks a simple but powerful question:
How do we recognize what is happening within us when emotions arise? And how can awareness help us move beyond simply getting caught in them… toward learning from them — even transforming them?

The koshas are often described as subtle layers or veils that shape how we experience ourselves. Moving through them is a lifelong practice of reflection — noticing patterns, deepening awareness, and learning to respond with greater clarity and care.

Emily is a high school art teacher, coach, and lifelong student of movement who believes yoga helps us grow stronger, more flexible, and more comfortable in our own skin — both on and off the mat.

There is something steady about a weekend practice There is something steady about a weekend practice.

A rhythm of returning.
Breath. Movement. Community.
A reminder that regulation isn’t something we achieve once — it’s something we tend.

This weekend, alongside our full schedule of classes across Tower Grove and Maplewood, we gather for something a little more spacious.

On Saturday at 2pm, Layers of Being: An Ayurvedic Journey invites us into an exploration of the koshas.
The subtle layers of body, energy, mind, wisdom, and bliss.

Through an Ayurvedic lens, we’ll gently inquire into the wisdom body — the part of you that already knows. The quiet inner teacher beneath the noise. The layer of discernment that guides alignment, not from force, but from integration.

Ayurveda reminds us that healing isn’t about adding more. It’s about remembering what is already intelligently organized within us.

If you’ve been craving depth…
If you’re curious about yoga beyond the pose…
If your nervous system is asking for a thoughtful pause…

We would love to practice with you. 🤍

Yesterday, we had a very special group of visitors Yesterday, we had a very special group of visitors walk through our doors — a class from a local school on a field trip.

Watching kids explore movement, breath, and rest with curiosity was a beautiful reminder: it is never too early to learn mindfulness in relationship to play and our bodies.

When children are given language for their nervous systems… when they are invited to notice how their breath feels, how their feet meet the floor, how excitement and overwhelm move through them… we are planting seeds of embodied awareness that can last a lifetime.

Yoga isn’t about perfect poses. It’s about relationship — to sensation, to emotion, to choice.
And yesterday felt like a small but powerful step toward a future where regulation, reflection, and self-trust are part of how we grow up.

Grateful for brave spaces where even the youngest among us can practice returning to themselves.
